It’s the scientific breakthrough chocolate lovers have been waiting for, the world’s first 3D chocolate printer.
Boffins at the University of Exeter have been tirelessly developing this latest technological breakthrough. This new prototype process works in a similar way to ink printing and printing 3D plastic models.
Each layer is printed one at a time. Once a layer solidifies, the next layer is printed on top of the preceding one. Technically anything can be printed once the object is broken down into layers.
Once the new technology is turned into a finished product, it will have wide array of applications in food retailing and production industries. There are even moves by the creators to develop a chocolate printing website so you can order your own chocolate printed designs.
One word of warning. Please do not try this at home with your Epson printer. We have a feeling it will be the last time it will work!
